History
Egg Harbor traces to the 1940s in the South Jersey boatbuilding community and was long admired for seaworthy convertible sportfishermen with fine mahogany (later teak) brightwork. After a January 1990 Chapter 11 filing and a 1997 bankruptcy, the company was bought by Dr. Ira Trocki in 1999, who expanded it and acquired brands like Predator, Topaz, and Davis under the Egg Harbor Group. Production of the classic Eggs eventually wound down.
