History

Richard 'Dick' Bertram founded Bertram Yacht in 1960 in Miami. Inspired by C. Raymond Hunt's deep-V design, he launched the fiberglass Bertram 31 in 1961. Whittaker Corporation acquired the company in 1968; it has since passed through several owners and today operates under the Gavio Group.
